rough egg shells

It's pretty common in new layers, as are funny shaped and weird colors on the eggs.
Are you offering free-choice oyster shell?

I have one hen that always lays an egg with little bumps on it. I know they have everything they need, so I just don't worry too much about it.

In my poultry judging packet it says eggs with rought RIDGES are from cracking while in chicken and then extra calcium forming over crack. I'm sure yours is just because of a new layer
