Round eggs

I found a ping pong sized egg right beside the water bucket that I put in with my ducks every night...
What could have been in there to lay that egg?

I have no experience with ducks, but my chickens will lay a round egg once in a while.

Ok, here's the question: Is the shell like a normal egg or leathery? If like a normal egg, then likely one of your ducks dropped it, they sometimes lay wonky eggs when they start. Though I've never seen a round one, my friend who got me started with ducks has.

Now if its leathery, that's not a good sign. In any case you'll likely want to open it up and take a look.
