Crowing
Ok, so we live in NC and the weather is still in the 60s at night and 70s during the day. It is currently POURING and has been for 2 days. My yard is full of puddles so my chickens are drinking from the poopy, muddy puddles instead of their water bowl. I’m sitting here helplessly watching as they do this, and I am terrified they are all going to get worms (which happened last year when I had way less chickens so worming them was easy). I now have 50 chickens so worming them individually is NOT an option. Yes, I know that the way to do it is at night with a headlamp when they roost but still - completely unrealistic.
So... we do know how to make the mash out of the safeguard. But... what I don’t understand is how do you kill the parasite larvae in the soils??? Our chickens free range on 1 acre. Our yard is going to be a soggy sh*t show for weeks... so I just don’t understand how to keep them from constantly reinfesting themselves over and over again if the eggs are just in the ground....
FRUSTRATED.
