Roxy Hart is NOT MISSING!!!! Update- It was Amelia!

One week ago, one of our black Ameraucanas just disappeared. She was almost 4 months old. We had a number of them, andhad just given a few away and for a while, I thought maybe I had given her away too and lost count. Now I am certain spmething got her.

Tonight when I did a head count, my favorite beautiful sweet EE, Roxy was not there. We did a search around the yard, barns, etc and she is nowhere. She is not an independent girl, and was always with her clan.

I am so sad. She was only about 6 or 7 months and hadn't even started laying yet.

Worse, something is clearly stealing our girls in the light of day while we are home. We were outdoors all day today and saw and heard nothing.

Here she was.....wasn't she pretty?

Hope Roxy comes home. It is possible something is stealing chickens while you are at home, during the day. It you were outside I would think you might here a rukus? But maybe not.

Maybe she will be back. I lost my fave EE rooster in daylight while I was home. I was sure a fox or something must have gotten him but I could not find feathers anywhere. Then 10 days later I found him very weak but alive. I looked everywhere and thought he must be dead then he showed back up. He is in a huge dog kennel in the house enjoying all his yummy food to get fattened back up. I feel awful he was lost for so long after I could not find him looking everywhere I really thought a fox had him for supper. I'll keep my fingers crossed you find her alive and well. She is very pretty.

I'm so sorry. I hope a thorough search finds her alive and well

(if she was chased or escaped a pred's grasp she may be a distance away and uncertain how to get back).

She has never laid an egg. I can't imagine she would go away on her own. I guess I'll try to have hope.

I should say that a fisher snatched our 3 beloved house cats from our yard about 2 months ago. But I think that was night time. The day time thing is perplexing to me.

I don't have much hope......

:aww Just pray and keep an eye out for her.
I will do a search for predators near you....maybe I can get some "suspects" that match up to the location and stuff...?
Good luck to you and your beloved hen!
