royal palm incubation emergency

We put regular starter in with it for the smaller chicks (put with them to show them were the feed is) to eat because the "crumbles" are still a little large for smaller beaks. We give them that for 6-8 weeks then put on regular game bird feed with access to egg pellets and cracked corn and free range once we feel they are big enough to go outside.
If you're within 30min. of Columbia, Bourn Feed carries the complete Purina Gamebird line. Wet, whimpy Winter, followed by pretty dank/damp Spring has resulted in heavy, very early, flushes of grasshoppers/crickets so chick/poult protein augmentation isn't an issue (pay grand kids a penny per catch). Last year, once the hens had shown the first hatch where and how to get water/crumbles, the 13 yr.`locust' plague pretty much kept the Gamebird Starter in the bag. This brood was named the `Cicada Cohort' , as from day 5 on, that's what they chowed down on with gusto. Recycling units: Cheap feed (2011): Good luck with the hatching!
