Hi New Friends,

Here's the situation: I have 3 Royal Palm turkeys about 8 months old. One of my girls was sitting down yesterday and not engaging much with the flock of chickens and her two sisters which she recreates with. This is not normal for her. I am not sure if she ate yesterday as I didn't pay attn to it but she didn't want to eat this morning, nor drink and when I picked her up she didn't protest. That's very abnormal. She cuddled and put her head on my shoulder (odd) and I could hear a wee bit of wheezing. She has normal eyes, no mites, legs, and vent look good, no ticks, slight crusties in the nostrils but not bad. Due to the fact I have a large enclosure with 40 birds, I am not sure what her poop looks like. We planned on de-worming everyone this weekend from pigs to chickens, including the turkeys but now I need to focus on her getting better. I've had the RPT since 8 weeks old and they are robust and healthy, but now I'm lost on what to do for her to feel better. I gave her a bit of Vet RX on the waddle and nostrils to see if that would open her breathing up a bit....what else can I do?

Thanks in advance friends.

Can you post some pictures and a video of her? To post video, upload to YouTube or Vimeo, then copy and paste the link here.

For figuring out a treatment, I suggest separating her, then weigh her. Once she poops, post pictures of her poop. So many things could be wrong it's impossible to suggest treatment without knowing more.

No, I looked for the blackhead bumps. She has black fur/feathers on the top of her head along with the white feathers. Her nose this morning didn't have any crusties and she was trying to scratch in their big dust bath area.

Okay, I'll do that. I will post pictures and go from there. Thank you.

So she is seeming better??
Thanks for asking but no, still wheezing, was sitting down this morning while her siblings were off eating and trying to figure the CA rain out. (not a usual thing for us). She didn't have anything wrong with her eyes and her nose is not running. I'm going to do the turmeric/probiotic egg mash and get some electrolytes in her. Hoping the deworming last night works too, even though I didn't see any indication of worms anywhere in the flock, it was preventive.
