Is this something I should be treating?? I have never seen this.. I bought these at an auction and I hope they won't hurt the rest of my flock???

Poultry
Warty Growths on Comb

The appearance of warty growths or sores on the fleshy parts of a chicken's head is not usually a health risk that the producer should be concerned with. These lesions are produced as the bird's response to fowl pox virus injected by a mosquito. The condition appears more serious than it actually is. A scab forms as the bird develops a resistance to the viral disease organism. The bird will not usually show other effects to the disease and will recover within a short time unless complications arise.

A more detailed discussion of fowl pox is included in Diseases of Poultry

Doesn't look like craunicles. You did quarantine for 30 days right? Keep them quarantined till you figure out what it may be. What ever it is, I bet it is 99.9% not bacterial.

I think soonerdog is on to something. Are there any `warts' on legs or feet? Have someone hold them while you check inside their mouths (if there are any `sores' /raw areas could be wet pox).

Will post two links: This is Suburban Homesteader's thread from yesterday on observation of pox in chicken flock:

And link to USGS Field Manual of Wild Bird diseases (section 4: viral diseases with photos/ avian pox).
This is an excellent manual/reference to download and have on hand.

Your turks need to be quarantined, if they're not already.

Please post more shots if possible. And, best of luck!
