Im getting 3 royal palm poults this week and was wondering if there are any hints or signs to look for to determine sex. They were hatched March 1. I know theres no way to tell for absolute certain till there adults, but theres got to be signs that point more to one sex or the other..

Thanks.

Also.. Do they need a higher protein food like the BB Whites?? If not, will the higher protein food hurt them? As soon as my BB whites are big enough to not need a brooder, they will go in the turkey pen with the Royal Palms...The Palms are going to be pets, the BB whites are going to be food..

I don't even attempt to sex them till they're older. I've read though that you may be able to tell by looking at the size of the snoods. If they are larger, they are males. But not sure how true that is. I haven't tried.
As far as the protein, I feed my heritage turkeys about 26 %.
