Hello all,

I recently picked up 5 RSL pullets from TSC. The only problem is, I am noticing one has much lighter coloring than the rest, and "her" wing feathers are coming in white. She also acts a little different---when something goes overhead, "she" stands up and investigates. This chick was the lightest colored of the whole bin.
So... are RSL males white as chicks?

Suspect is on the right in the above picture.

On the left here.

Thanks in advance.

You are correct, males are white and females are reddish colored.

even as chicks?
Yep.

Yep. They are red sex-links, so you can tell them apart by down color.....
The are three ways to sex day-old sex-links... color sexing, feather sexing and vent sexing. Down color is the most obvious, and the easiest way to tell.

Now you know you've got a roo, what do you plan to do with it???

Keep him, and see if he stays respectful/gets along with the flock/provides fertile eggs. If so, he will replace my current roosters. If not, he tastes like chicken, so...
