This morning I found two rubber shelled eggs on the droppings board from one of my hens … she will be 3 years old in August. I have several locations throughout their run with two types of oyster shells, and kept full at all times! Her annual molt has already passed…..if this rubber egg incident something I should be concerned about?

If it happens repeatably, yes, something should be done.
Might just be a glitch tho.

When was her molt?
Where in this world are you located?
Climate, and time of year, is almost always a factor.
Please add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, and then it's always there!

I’m having trouble with an 8 month old cinnamon queen who consistently lays soft shell eggs each day. I try to get them first thing in the morning so the other girls don’t eat it. But I’m concerned this is not stopping after a month or more of laying.
I have oyster shells in the run and also feed quinoa and broccoli stems. I’m considering adding calcium to the water. What do I do?

What's their normal diet? Stop the broccoli and cut back on the treats.

I feed them scratch & peck layer feed with some pellets, black oil sunflower seeds, quinoa and broccoli every day.

Can I mess up their egg laying by gong too many treats?
Absolutely. Broccoli contains calcium blockers and treats in general should be less than a tablespoons per bird, once or twice a week.

I appreciate the information!
I’m so thrilled to still be getting eggs during winter that I’m trying to spoil my girls. But sounds like that’s backfiring on me. Thank you!!
