please help! not sure if one of my hens is ill or not. i have 4 hens all hatched in early july. The 2 easter eggers started laying about 4 weeks ago. a week latter my 2 black hens layed , but only one of the black ones continued to lay. but one of the black ones didnt lay for a week, and then it had a rubbery shell, that was it till today, again a rubbery shell. They all act the same as always. they all get the same feed live in a coop with a 6 by 8 ft run with a 5 by 8 foot hen house all are 7 feet tall. they are let out all day and get meal worms and berrys and greens every day. the feed is purina laying pellets. as far as i can tell she isnt picked on and i have 3 seperate feeders so they all get feed. any suggestions?

It sometimes happens with new layers. Do you have an separate dish of Oyster Shells out? I recommend putting some out. If you have some Tums or calcium tablets, crush it up and get her to eat some. Rubbery eggs can become a concern IF it continues & breaks in her.
