Hi there all,

I'm new to here and to chickens. Currently 5 chicks, 3 in a homemade brooder and the other two in a bigger homemade pen in my garage. Currently I just started building my coop in my back yard, so we will see how that turns out soon enough, hooyah!

Thank you everybody

Hi Ruben and welcome to BYC - great to have you onboard. Good luck with the coop build - the Coop section is a good place for inspiration.

The Learning Centre is a great resource, even for experienced chicken keepers - loads of info on anything chicken. https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center

Joining your state thread (just type your state in the search box) will also put you in contact with other BYC members in your area.

The members here are amazing - very friendly and helpful, so if you need an answer to a question or simply want some reassurance that what you are doing is ok, then post away - we all help each other out here at BYC.

All the best

Thanks, I'll have to check out. On weekdays I only get about an hr to work on my coop. I've been at it for 3days now but it's coming along. Hoping to have it done by Sunday. So... Maybe you can help me, I want this to be good for 6 hens. I was thinking of 2 nesting boxes, an easy clean out door, and roost for them. The coop size is 2x4 because I'm trying to make it light weight so it can be a tractor. I'm also thinking of putting the PVC Pipes inside as a waterer and feeder. Any thoughts or ideas would be great.
