You will need to watch for external parasites with them wearing saddles as they won't be able to dust bath properly. As it gets warmer out watch for over heating, and check for chafing on a regular basis.

It still will impede the hens ability to lift her feathers and release trapped heat. Chicken feathers are like wearing a thick parka. That's why they do better in cold than hot weather.
