This past week was a bit rough. It was very busy and I think it got to a lot of my classmates mentally as well. Everyone seems a little on edge.

Anyway, I thought it would be nice to have a place to chat for those of us who may be having a rough day/week/month and maybe we can help each other out by posting some positive messages for each other.

I'm currently sitting on my patio with my dog drinking coffee. The weather is beautiful! I don't think the dog is happy because the concrete is a bit cool and she's spoiled so I gave her a towel to sit on. There's a little bit of a breeze and the sun is shining. I have to delve into studying soon since I have a test next week, but right now things are more peaceful than they have been all week!

We've had some good, some not so good, this week . . .

Last Friday evening, our internet went down. We've had times with very slow signal, or no signal, but they never lasted very long. When this didn't remedy itself within a short time, my husband and son started checking things over, and discovered that the cable was out too (we have a "bundle" with the cable company). Hubby joked that he'd run over the cable driving in; the line is buried in the driveway.

Saturday morning, he called the cable company and reported the outage. We were told that the earliest they could get a tech out was on Tuesday. By using our phones as hot spots and "running lean," we could manage to still have internet access through the weekend, but even then, we'd burn through all of our data for the month - so, no Netflix. Ah, well.

The tech arrived Tuesday afternoon, and guess what? Critter had been joking, but that turned out to be exactly what the problem was - the line had been damaged at a soft spot in the driveway that had become rather rutted with the coming and going of Critter's box truck. The line was only a few inches below the surface of the soil, not enough to protect it from the pressure of the truck tires.. Because our house sits a ways back from the road, they needed a larger than usual line to make sure that we could get a good signal over the distance, and they don't carry the big, heavy line on their repair trucks. Two techs worked pretty hard to splice around the bad spot with what they had to make sure we had some signal restored that afternoon, though proper repairs would have to wait until a crew with a cable puller could come in and redo the whole line with the heavier cable. They told us it might take up to two weeks for the crew that could do that work to get to us.

At about 9 this morning, there was a knock on the front door. The man standing on the steps said he was here to mark the lines for the cable guys. Maybe half an hour later, the cable crew arrived and set to work. The install was a bit complicated (lots of tree roots, Hubby's box truck and equipment trailer, and a couple of irrigation lines in the way) but they set to it cheerfully, and we are now fully functioning again - on a Saturday!

There actually are people who will go the extra mile for customer service - I have just met several of them!

Bunnylady, that's great that they got it fixed for you! Not having internet is the worst. I never know what to do with myself (besides the 15 millions projects I have to do that don't require Internet rofl)

Chickerdoodle,  what brand of coffee does your dog drink?   :gig

Dunkin donuts of course!
