Ruffed Grouse in ohio?

Hello, I hope you are having a nice day. I was wondering if anyone had knowledge on the population on the ruffed grouse in ohio. Or if you know how to raise one, or where to get one. Thanks

All I know is that 4 years ago I wanted to raise and release some on my rural land and I quickly learned it was against the law and often a punished act. It changes the ecosystem of the land in an uncontrollable way. The DNR is trying to balance the levels of native species and my wanting to do my own release would've been acting against their attempt even though it seemed kind to nature

Man. Its frustrating that some of the laws the government puts up often seem to hurt the economy instead of helping it.
