BJT...Fisher's are particularly ferocious little mammals and, just like jax says, rather uncommon. I personally have never seen one but my brother has while back country skiing in the Adirondack's He was hunkered down in some pines eating a sandwich and saw a snow snowshoe rabbit being chased by one. I don't think they are much of a threat to humans unless they had distemper or rabies (never heard of such a case myself) but then what animal isn't.
