Run ground question

You mentioned that you throw browns into the run. Why not greens? I dump greens into the rabbit run routinely... Anything but nightshade. And it decomposes in short order. Over the winter, I'll have to throw browns because that's all that I'll have bagged up from the Fall.
 
I will throw greens in, only what the birds will eat.
Nothing extra.

Extra greens add nitrogen to feed the microbes in the digestion process of browns.
Chicken manure is very high in nitrogen.

Adding more greens than the chickens will digest, just deletes the browns faster.
 
Can you put a fan in the run area? A box fan on low would help keep the air circulating and help dry out some of the dampness. The chickens might like the breeze. Just a thought.
