run help needed

what do i use for the run area? clean loom ok?? what kind of sand do i mix in?? how much sand is needed?

Just the ground should be fine unless you have a drainage issue then you could build up the elevation with plain ol topsoil. THey may do it different up north but down here we just put up a fence possibly with flight netting on top and call it done.

i would like to know about sand also. I have the coop built (8x8) and 8 chickens. I would like a 16 x 8 run. I didn't know what to put in this. for right now i have them running around with the dog in the woods. They love scratching at the dried leaves and finding all sorts of bugs.
