Run material and wood type

Ok so I’ll use pressure treated, elevate it and paint it. Is that the right way to do it?

I wouldn't paint it, no need.....but if you do, make sure you let it dry out thoroughly before painting

I would agree with most on using PT ground contact wood. We did stain ours to match our home, did so for athstetics only. I do not want to be replacing all the foundation of my coop and run every few years because of using non treated wood. PT also is not appetizing to termites and in our area which is very humid those pest will devour non treated, but they don't touch the PT. I'm not worried about the chickens scratching the PT wood, or areas around it, those little dinosaurs each so many things around the house and woods area and I have no idea where some of things they dig up has been or treated with, they are tough birds!
