Zara not expecting an attack from what looked like a weak wolf, bit back a yelp. She snarled and noticed his injured shoulder and tried to bite it to open the wound more.

Klash howled in pain. He kicked at her trying to knock her off of him.

Zara backed up and began to circle him. She said menacingly , "Leave now and you might get away with your life."

Jake walked around, thinking. He tried to focus on catching prey, but couldn't stop thinking about Rose, and why he felt so comfortable and happy when he had been around her. He hadn't felt that happy to befriend another wolf since his mate had died...

Rose paused by the water, thinking about Jake. Even when she didn't know who was watching her, she had not become defensive, and when he showed himself... She shook her head, lapping up some water before heading to the temporary den she had found nearby.
