As the threesome trudged up the mountainside, Willow's blood made a steady crimson trail on the path. Fyra didn't notice it, and was instead drawn to the intense beauty. She had never been this far up the mountain; although Willow had told her about it, along with detailed instructions on how to get there, it was as different as black and white. Willow's description had made the place seem like just a random mountain among others just like it, but in reality it was heavenly. Slate gray mountains with blinding white snow-caps touched the vibrant blue sky at the end of an expanse of bright green grasses and vast taiga.
"Is this it?" Echo asked Cody softly, looking back at the he-wolf with gentle amber eyes.

As Cody's eyes fell upon the landscape before him, memories came crashing over him like a tidal wave. He remembered the first day he and Willow had come out here, and hunted that deer together. How he wished he could go back to that day with her; before Kodiak pulled his stunt that started the whole battle, before he'd fallen in love with her... before... before...

He was so wrapped up in his thoughts that he almost didn't hear Echo's question. "Yes." His voice was barely a whisper. His dull, gray gaze looked up at the sky. This is gonna hurt so much... until I meet you again in the Pack of Lupin, Willow...

Fyra staked out a spot that looked out into the endless expanse of earth and sky, where the sun would set later that day. "Right here," she murmured, "is perfect."

"Perfect," Cody murmured, and he began to dig.

Fyra and Echo followed suit and began to dig furiously, as if something were timing them. Dust began to coat their pelts and cover the puddles of blood, leaving a slimy mess at the gravesite. Fyra surveyed the work, nodding. This hole was big enough for Willow and deep enough that her body wouldn't easily be dug up. "Alright. Put 'er in."

Cody gently pulled Willow's body up, and nudged her inside.
Fyra and Echo began to cover the body up with dirt once Willow was inside. Sweeping up the bloody dust, the sisters sat next to the finished grave.

Faedon dug a pit for Quartz right next to the one Cedar was burying; since Quartz and Neb had been mates, Faedon figured that they'd have wanted to be buried close to one another. As Faedon and Cedar dug the graves for Quartz and Nebrivo, Senkah brought the pack to the burial grounds. Faedon's paws became slick with mud as she dug the pit, and when she was finished, she stepped back and gently placed Quartz into the grave. As a sort of goodbye, she pressed her nose against Quartz's, ignoring the scent of death that was growing increasingly stronger. Faedon felt her heart give a lurch as she noticed that Quartz's body had become stone cold. Not wanting to cry in front of her pack, she began to cover Quartz's body in the dirt, her motions rushed.

( Do you think it's a good idea to hide under my sister's bed and when she goes to sit down on it for whatever reason I slowly wrap my fingers around her ankle? )

Zara followed Senkah and the pack. Her head was low and she was full of grief and anger. *If it wasn't for Darkpack, they would still be here!* she thought angrily. Zara sighed quietly to herself and watched as Quartz was buried.

Cedar filled in Nebrivo's grave, taking a little longer because of her injured legs. She gently nosed a few stone onto the fresh mound of dirt. Rest together, Quartz and Nebrivo.
