Faedon pinched the beetle in between her teeth and yanked about half of it out of Poppy's mouth. "I told you that if you stayed close to me, I would take you on an adventure around the territory! But you went alone!" Faedon's eyes were narrowed to fiery green slits, and her ears were pinned back flat against her head. "It is very dangerous for pups to go out alone! There are cliffs, you could get lost... and wolves who would hurt you if they found you!" Faedon thought of a Stonepack packmate called West, who had been taken from his Emeraldpack home when he was a pup. "Darkpack WILL take you away from your home if they get their paws on you!"

Piper tried to stop sobbing. She didn't want Garron to think she was weak...she wished he would still be her friend.
"I...he just...I went so long thinking my family....that I had lost everything in that awful fire! I tried to forget for three years...I found a new home in Pinepack...I grieved and tried to move on. And now Marble comes and he's....he's....." she couldn't make herself say anymore for fear that she would break down again.

Poppy whined at the loss of her beetle. She didn't hear much of what her mom had said...something about Darkpack and cliffs and hurting....it sounded boring. She snaked a paw out to try and get her bug back.

Kado looked into his moms eyes. He couldn't quite understand all of what she was saying, but he knew she was very upset. He tucked his tail between his legs and whimpered.

Poppy hooked the other part of her beetle and slowly pulled it back towards her, her mothers words floating in one ear and out the other.
