Vashti came out and stood over him, her face solemn. She prodded the dead rabbit with a paw and then looked at the pup. "Well done, Axel. You made a kill on your first hunt...without anyone's help. Do you see now why I did not help you? If I had you wouldn't have been able to make it yourself. I have no doubt now that you could kill another rabbit anytime you wanted. You let your rage drive you at the end...that gave you the strength to finish it. Remember what you have learned today." she turned and walked back. "Bring your catch...you can show your parents proudly."

Axel smiled proudly and grabbed the rabbit by the leg and dragged it back with him.

Falcon sat down a few feet away from the den. All the new scents were almost overwhelming.

Teru shrugged and stomped into the bushes, sitting down silently.
