Kado whimpered in fear. The sounds hurt his ears. He didnt feel safe out here, even though he was with his mother.

Poppy whimpered too, bumping against Kado as they hung from their mothers mouth. She yipped in annoyance and fear.

Faedon fought to suppress a ferocious growl. Her instincts were screaming at her, and they were sending mixed messages to do this and that. She wanted to stay with her pups, but the natural instinct of a mother she possessed howled deep within her heart to kill the hunters... kill them all... and protect her pups. The feeling was overwhelming, and it took all the strength she had to not do just that. At this point, she didn't care about her own life, or even the lives of her packmates, for that matter. All that mattered to her was that the little scraps of fur that she loved so dearly lived...
Linden howled her rage from Hades's mouth, glaring daggers at her mother. This vocal pup didn't care about hunters and such; they were just specks of dust compared to how annoyed she was becoming from dangling by her scruff.

"Over here!" Faedon shouted to Hades when she spotted a small rocky patch of ground, peppered with boulders. She crouched down in a tiny crack between two boulders; it wasn't much, but it would hide them until the hunters went away. She set Kado, Poppy, and Maple down in the very back, and took Linden, Ginger, and Russet out of Hades' mouth and set them beside their siblings. She then stood at the entrance with determination to protect her pups shining in her emerald green eyes, thereby preventing them from escaping and protecting them from the hunters. If the hunters wanted to kill her pups, they'd have to kill her first.

Close to Girvan, a dark gray and white she-wolf was sprinting away from the hunters. Her blue gaze was aflame with terror, and her mind was in a senseless whirl. "Help!" she cried out in desperation as a bullet sailed over her head.

Kado whimpered and climbed onto his siblings to stick his head out of the crack between the boulders. He wanted to keep his mother in his sight. It made him feel safer.

Girvan heard the she wolf and called to her, "Come on! This way!" to his left he spied a small, barely noticeable ditch in the ground and he dove for it, his shoulder screaming in pain. He finally noticed that one of the bullets had hit him at the base of his neck and was bleeding. In his fear he hadn't even noticed. He waited expectantly for the wolf to jump down next to him and then crouched down, making himself as small as possible. With any luck, the hunters would not be able to see them and would move on...away from the pack.

Vashti stopped smiling. She had her priorities. A fight with a foolish packmate wasn't one of them. "No." her voice was low and calm with an undertone of threat. "I have no quarrel with you, she-wolf." she stalked off to find the rabbits.

"Running off like a child." She laughed. "Lets go, Klash."

Linden made several attempts in vain to escape, ending up crashing head-first into Faedon's legs. Sulking, she retreated to the back of the small enclosure.

Fyra raced to where the pack was gathered, as quietly as she could as to not draw attention to herself or the pack. Just as she was about to dive for a grove of trees a bullet sliced through the air, whizzing towards her and imbedding itself into her shoulder.
