"Shut up Klash!" Akira roared. "You don't know what you're talking about! We got what we wanted, the pup, and they're leaving now! Fighting them is just going to cause unnecessary injuries! If you had half a brain, you'd know that!"

"Don't talk to me like that. It was your smart idea to get that pup in the first place!" He snarled at her. He watched Lark, Stone and Fern leave, in anger.

"Because KODIAK TOLD ME TO!" she roared. "Ask him if you don't believe me!"

As the entered Emeraldpack border, Ferns breathing had become even more labored and raspy. Blood dripped from he nose, mouth and her bitten leg. She was limping heavily and barely could stay on her paws

Kyra and Leah stepped out of the den, watching Fern "Is she alright, Did you get the pup back?" They asked together

Destoe sighed" I didn't want us taking pups yet, we needed to wait a bit, let the dust settle from are fight with stone pack."

"They'd attack us again for revenge for killing their ALPHA, you idiot! Do you have an ounce of common sense?!" Akira spat. "If you won't listen to me, listen to my father! And he'll tear your ears off for questioning me!"

"What do you want us to do? Bow down to you?" He laughed bitterly. "You're the one who stole the pup in the first place. If Destoe and I hadn't stepped in, those wolves would have killed you in an instant." He growled at her.

" well I didn't know that was their alpha!!" Destoe yelled, he did not like being talked down to.

"Do you question my orders?" The low growl of Kodiak rose from the shadows. Like a bullet, the massive blue and white form of the alpha male surged from the shadows, snapping his powerful jaws inches from Destoe's face. "Akira is my daughter and that makes her higher in rank than you pups, whether you like it or not. If you question her again, I'll use your pelts to line my nest. Got it?" His jaws snapped together with each word, creating a hollow echo with each snap.

Fern could make no answer...she collapsed on the ground, shaking all over with sobs that she just couldn't find the breath to utter. Her side was swelling over her broken ribs and she started to cough up blood again.

Akira just grinned as she watched Kodiak come in. "Get back to your den and shut your stupid yap, Klash, or I'll reopen that wound ony our shoulder for you," Atra snapped as she came to stand beside her mate.

"I trained her myself. She would have been just fine. Or do you doubt my combat abilities?" Kodiak stepped into Klash's space and looked over him in an assertion of dominance.
