"Are you an idiot? Or blind? Or both?" he snapped. "I've been here since long before you were born, runt."
Teru cringed, her eyes closed and her head pulling back. Then she opened her eyes and stopped cringing. "You have no right to insult me! You don't even know me."
Fyra grinned, nudging another pup. "How about Reid for this one?"(( Okay, here, Owl... ))
Fyra's heart bursted with enough love for her litter to topple the mountains as she curled her abdomen around them, watching them squeal and nose towards their mother's heat. They were so tiny, so innocent, having no idea what danger awaited them outside the safety of the den.
Fyra began to rasp her tongue over each of her pup's heads, nuzzling them gently and lovingly as she did. The last-born was a pure white in color with a scribble of charcoal grey along her spine--pretty normal, Fyra thought. It was only when she saw a flash of amber when the pup turned blindly in search of a meal (( yes, I know pups don't open their eyes right after birth )) that she realized how special this pup really was, how much this pup reminded her of her late best friend...
... Willow, I wish you could see this...
Heart twisting with gut-wrenching sadness and guilt, Fyra glanced up at her mate with sorrowful eyes. "I know what we'll name this one," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Willow--after the best friend a wolf could have. May she rest and peace, and may this pup have the free life she never had."
Cody's lit up like the stars. "Yes," he breathed, his voice almost inaudible. "It's perfect. Thank you, Fyra."

"It's perfect." He leaned down and nuzzled a black pup, who looked like a tiny copy of him. "What do you think of Blackbird for him, and-" he drew his tongue over a gray and white she-pup, "Kimberly for her?"
(( SOMEBODY MAKE NEIL BEFORE OWL DOES, WE DO NOT WANT THAT TO HAPPEN 'CUZ SHE'LL RUIN HIS HAIR ))
He scoffed and rolled his eyes, "I've been watching you all day. You and your stupid siblings will not shut up and you've been distracting me all day. I lost an alpha elk earlier because of your screaming!"
