Storm finished lapping up the water nand turned to head back toward Nyx. He winced and licked at a gash in his side. I swear, Atra, it doesn't matter how many battles you've won, the war is already ours.

Dove had walked what she assumed was a mile, her stomach was empty and she was debating whether she should risk straying from the river to hunt when the strong scent of a male wolf reached her. She froze and crouched low, her bright eyes burning a hole in the night air. "Oh man," she thought, "Where is he? I can't get a mark on him. Darned wind, why is it never in my favor?"
