Aki looked back at her. He stood and shook out his fur. "Go home Mari." He sighed. "I need to be alone."

Mari nodded slowly, then turned and headed back to camp. She cast worried glances over her shoulder. She heaved a shaky breath as a sharp pain coursed through her belly. Then veered off towards the river.

Lacy bounded out of the den, yapping. She was a little over four months and was be coming very independent. "Dad?" She barked, looking for thunder.

Thunder lifted his head. "Yes Lacy?" He smiled.

"Sorry sweetie." Thunder smiled. "You are a little too young. But you can hunt here in the camp with me."

Lacy yelped as he grabbed her scruff and twisted and fought. "LET ME GO!" She yelped
