Cole paced along the pack's border, his heavy paws crunching on the dry, fallen leaves and twigs with each step. After guarding the territory for such a long time, he thought he'd take advantage of the solitude and rest for a brief while, so his large frame gracelessly slumped into some long grass, and he lay there, with his paws neatly crossed. The silence was calming, but lonely all at once - he supressed a sigh, his sharp yellow eyes gazing absently into the dense labyrinth of trees that was the vast forest.
