(Wren and rebel are almost 6 months old)
Koga was taking Wren and Rebel on their first hunting trips. Sky followed along quietly, still barely talking to her father.
Koga spotted a large deer herd in the forest, he hunkered down and explained his plan to his pups.
Wren and rebel nodded and circled behind the herd.
Sky stayed put, waiting. And koga headed to the front of the herd, ready to take down the target.
Wren and rebel charged the herd, forcing a huge stampede, but not counting on the old buck, who would do anything to protect his herd. Rebel charged up the side of the herd, as wren raced along behind the herd.
Sky bolted from her hiding spot, forcing the herd to turn, she slammed into the ground as she struck the side of a large doe. She yelped and growled and jumped to her feet, snapping at the heels of the herd.
Koga waited and waited, he could her the herd coming, suddenly he heard a loud yelp, growls, another yelp. He race out and saw sky, wren and rebel, wildly dodging the huge old buck. Suddenly wren was sent flying, by a bone crunching kick. She didn't move. Koga growled and lunged at the old buck, a searing pain ripped through him, as the antlers pierced his sides.
Suddenly all was quite and Sky nudged her father "daddy?!" She whined
Rebel nudged wren "w......wr.....wren?"
They both threw their heads back and howled a sad, painful, heartbroken song.
