Something in Nike snapped. He stared at his mate. "Senkah... are you okay?" He asked, suddenly worried for his mate, and not himself.

"No, not really." She turned to reveal one of her pups, lying lifelessly on the cold ground. "Ate yew berries. How could StarPack be so cruel!" She suddenly screeched in rage.

Elan backed away, and trotted quickly to his den.

They stopped talking when they heard the padding of footsteps.
