Lightning nodded quickly. "Elan, can you come back with me?"
Elan nodded, and started back.
"Wait, Elan, Lightning. I need you to take the pups back, but keep them out of Senkah's sight, and smell. Do not et her sense them. North, lets go." Rain said, nudging the pups to Lightning and Elan.
Elan picked up a tiny pup, and scooted one closer to Lightning.
Rain started to pad away.

Lightning picked up the remaining two pups by the scruff and trotted back to camp, wobbling awkwardly as he held her lame foot up.

North followed after Rain, trying to push his sorrow away.

Elan walked beside her, glancing worriedly at his mate. "You alright?" He asked through the pups scruff.

Rain slunk under bushes, her gray/brown fur blending with the surroundings. "North," She said quietly and gently. "I know it's going to be hard, but, you can't mourn right now. You need to think about your pups. They need you." She turned, still walking, and nuzzled North. "It's going to be okay."

"Yeah, I'm fine," she replied, her voice muffled by the pup's scruff, "my foot's just starting to act up again."

North sighed, "I know." His pawsteps were heavy, his ears flattened, and he didn't take his eyes off the ground below him as he walked.

"I can take two if you want." Elan said.

Rain smiled sadly at him. "I know you loved her very much." She said gently. "You'll love your pups just as much."

"No, it's alright," she said, "we're almost there." She quickly trotted to their den, taking them to the farthest reaches of the cave.

"I know, it's just... it won't be the same without her. Stonepack's going to scorn me for having an affair with an Emeraldpack wolf, too."

Elan followed, and gently set the tiny pup down next to the others. "I'll stay here, or do you want me to go with you?" He asked.

"Well," Mari said softly. "Maybe. Most of us won't though. I know how it feels, to be scorned for loving another wolf from a different pack." She said gently.

"Either," Lightning said.

North blinked.
"U-Um, I'll go with you." Elan said reluctantly. He was frightened of Senkah.

Rain smiled slightly. "You know Thunder, my mate. Well, he was in Stonepack, and I was in Emeraldpack. I loved him so much, and he loved me. We met every day on the border for months." Rain stopped, taking a deep breath, then started again. "Soon, I became aware I was expecting pups, and my mother found out. She laughed at me infront of the whole pack, and soon no one would speak to me. So, that night, I met Thunder on the border as usual, and went home with him. Senkah and Hades were so kind, and I've been apart of Stonepack ever since."

"Alright," Lightning said, going to her mother's den. She quietly padded in, "mom?"

Senkah looked up, the same fire in her eyes. "Leave," she snarled.

North nodded, understanding. "I don't know what happened to my mom..."
