Blizzard sprinted, as fast as his legs would take him. "Nike!" He howled. West whined and looked at Thunder. He shook his head, not knowing what to say. 'This pack is falling apart, why couldn't aki just have stayed and challenged Nike?' West thought

Nike wailed like a sad hurt wolf, and leaped into the river, swimming across.

Thunder limped slowly into West and Sierra's den. Sierra was shivering, and writhing madly. Thunder gasped, and ran to her. "She's caught a cold. Quick, lay next to her, we need to keep her warm!" Thunder forgot about himself, and curled his injured body around his daughter.

Blizzard plunged into the river, just seconds after Nike hit the opposite bank. "Nike! Wait!" He barked.

West whined and laid behind Sierra, resting his head on her neck. "Sierra?" He whispered "It'll be okay... I'm here." His voice calm and reassuring.

Nike ignored him, though his speed was diminishing gradually. He leaped away from the river, and pelted towards the shared territory, panting heavily.

Sierra whimpered, and pushed her muzzle into his fur, breathing in his scent.

Blizzard charged after him. "Nike! Please wait!" He said as he tripped over a fallen log, he stumbled and fell, panting. He jumped back to his feet, he couldn't see Nike, he stuck his nose back to ground, chasing his scent.

West nuzzled her and licked the top of her head.
