West nuzzled her and licked the top of her head.

Nike tripped, and sprawled on the ground, cutting his muzzle. "I give up!" He wailed, and got up, and walked to the shade of a bush.

Thunder got up. 'West can handle this.' He thought, and looked around for his mate.

West watched Thunder go, glad the old wolf no longer hated him.

Blizzard rushed up and noticed Nike under a bush. Blizzard halted and laid down under a tree opposite Nike. He didn't say anything, he didn't want to push Nike, he knew he would talk when he was ready.

Nike looked down at the dirt, his lip slightly curled. "I'm the worst alpha." He snarled, but tears fell onto the ground.

"No, you're just young." Blizzard said matter of factly. "Usually....." he picked his words carefully, "A wolf successes to alpha, they start as a beta, or the pups of the alpha, you have never dealt with leading a whole, and when you suddenly have a family that ranks lower than you, it makes things much more complicated."

Nike stared through wet eyes at Blizzard. "That doesn't matter. It's just me. And only me. Senkah is crazy," A fresh flow of tears burst into his eyes. "Our pups are suffering because of it, and I can't do anything about it!" Nike whimpered.

Blizzard just looked at Nike, he didn't know what to say, it wasn't his place to tell him how to handle his mate. "You'll figure it out." He finally said.
