Night ran as fast as he could, smoke hurt his eyes like fire itself. He began to stumble from inhaling so much smoke despite how far he was from the largest part of the fire.
 
Thrush started to run towards the dens, searching for her parents. She stopped suddenly, a terrible realization dawning on her.
She was the only one who knew where Night was.
 
Breeze had decided to trot through the shared territory, her ears pricked as she looked for prey. She swiveled her ears and turned around, looking directly at Night.
 
Night started to stumble even more. He couldn't remember where the were...was he walking in circles? His vision became darker. Soon Night was almost blind from the stinging in his eyes. He tripped, this time falling all the way. Blood stained his black fur as he got back up, letting out a raspy, strangled cry. He stumbled and fell again. unable to get up this time. His golden eyes started to close.
The flames. He watched them as they came closer. With another pang of pain he realized he would be dead before they even reached him.
 
Breeze watched with horror. He's from another pack, it's not your problem, he's from another pack... But Breeze couldn't bear to watch any wolf burn. Gritting her teeth against the heat, she charged forwards and grabbed Night's paw, trying her best to drag him away.

Thrush appeared from the smoke, looking in the wrong direction for her sibling. She spotted Breeze and him, but didn't feel threatened by the wolf from their rival pack. "W-who..." she started to croak.
 
Breeze raced into Thunderpack, dragging Night behind her, heading for the dens.

Breeze looked behind her, but was only focused on getting away from the smoke.
