Nikki's paw hit an object in the darkness, "ow!" She shouted, before a strange thing flickered to life and lit up the mine. (It's an old kerosene lamp that still works, don't ask me how lol) "This is weird in here," she commented, looking around. She put a paw on the wooden grid, edged with sharp metal.

Wind smiled, licking her face.

He nudged the turkey towards her.

Chayton yelped, leaping away from the lamp. Forcing his fur down, he followed Nikki. "Careful.." He murmured.

Scarlet chuckled, then rose to her feet. "Ya' know, I really could use a drink of water. Want to come?"

Mist smiled, taking a bite. "It's good." She said, looking at him. "Um, just in case I didn't thank you awhile ago, I want to thank you for telling Twilight off. She's been watching me. I just know it." She shuddered, thinking of the eerie black wolf she had seen lurking in the trees.

"Maybe if we picked it up..." she tenatively wrapped her jaws around the handle. The bottom metal piece fell off with a loud *CLANG* that echoed throughout the mine, but the lamp stayed on. "There!"

"Sure!" Wind's tail wagged.

"It's not a problem," Sunfire said, forcing a reassuring smile. "If she bothers you, I'll chase her off."

"Maybe if we picked it up..." she tenatively wrapped her jaws around the handle. The bottom metal piece fell off with a loud *CLANG* that echoed throughout the mine, but the lamp stayed on. "There!"

"Sure!" Wind's tail wagged.

"It's not a problem," Sunfire said, forcing a reassuring smile. "If she bothers you, I'll chase her off."

Chayton watched her with round eyes. He glanced around the cave, as if a human would jump out at them at any second.

"Race ya'!" Scarlet yipped, dashing off.

"Thanks, Sunfire." Mist purred, grateful. She longed to thank him in some other way, but she didn't know what to do. Maybe hunt for him? No, no, that would be weird. What else could she do? She took another bite of the turkey.

Nikki bounded through the tunnel, sliding to a stop suddenly. "Woah..." she murmured, "that was close."

Wind laughed, pelting after her. "I'm gonna beat ya!"

Sunfire took another bite of turkey, staring into Mist's eyes for a second before he blinked.

Nikki bounded through the tunnel, sliding to a stop suddenly. "Woah..." she murmured, "that was close."

Wind laughed, pelting after her. "I'm gonna beat ya!"

Sunfire took another bite of turkey, staring into Mist's eyes for a second before he blinked.

(If you want... *wink* Lol!)

Chayton stopped just before hitting her rump. "What, what?!" He asked, trying to look over her shoulder.

"Nu uh!" Scarlet laughed, running faster.

Mist returned the stare, before ducking to bite the turkey again.

In front of her was a sudden drop; it fell down, vanishing into darkness. Starpack knew how deep it was; if Nikki hadn't stopped when she did, she would have certainly fallen and died. But in front of her, the rail for the carts continued. "Maybe if we step on the wood," she murmured, taking a tenative step on the wood. It was strong. Feeling her confidence return, she continued walking on the boards.

Wind grinned, running by her shoulder.

"Do you want to go hunting later?" He asked.

In front of her was a sudden drop; it fell down, vanishing into darkness. Starpack knew how deep it was; if Nikki hadn't stopped when she did, she would have certainly fallen and died. Chayton shook his head, amazed at how adventurous she was. He couldn't leave her, so he followed, placing his paws exactly where she had.

Scarlet looked at him, smiled, then stopped as they reached the river. Gulping the clear water in large gulps, she sat down, placing her muzzle in the water.

"Oh, sure!" Mist barked enthusiastically.

She reached the other side, looking around before she continued.

Suddenly, the air around them rumbled. Nikki looked around frantically, letting out a cry of fear as it began to cave in, right between Chayton and her... "Chayton!" She cried, her yelps getting drowned out as the rocks and dirt separated them.

Wind drank thirstily.

Sunfire smiled, wagging his tail as he got to his paws. "I'm on patrol; I'll see you later!" He called. Breeze followed him with a rather displeased look on her face, shooting a deadly glare at Mist before following him.

(Anyone know what's happened so far? BTW, I'm working on rereading the old thread at the moment

once I refresh my memory on the story-line I'll finish the first chapter of the story. If Silkies could give me permission to use their characters, that would be great!)

Scarlet sighed, laying down. Her paws ached from carrying the weight of her pups.

"Bye.." Mist smiled, trailing off when she saw Breeze. Tucking her tail, she trotted to her den, where she curled up and fell asleep.
