Sahara's eyes widened. Her father snarled and sprinted away through the forest. She tried to rise, and shakily got to her knees.

"Come on." West said, helping Sahara up, "Let's go."
Rebel's eyes were wide with fear.
"Rebel." West barked. "Come on." West looked to Sierra, "Don't leave my sight." His voice more of a plea than a order.

Since Aki wasn't on the hill or beside her, Mari knew something was wrong. That's when she heard him howl. Her heart dropped to her paws. "Faolen. Gray! Stay here!" she barked, then sprinted off before they could argue. 

She slowed to a prowl when the strong scent of humans filled the air. Then she smelled blood.

Aki's eyes flashed with rage a human stepped out from a bush. He snarled as the human got closer. The human cocked the gun. Aki fought through the pain, scrambling to his feet. He faced the human a deep growl shook his body.

The human turned, Aki snarled and leapt, grabbing it the shoulder. The gun went off as Aki dragged the human to the ground, it's body went limp. "MARI!" Aki growled, he had smelled when she had approached.
