Mari lay limp on the ground, sleeping. She had walked for miles with no scent of Aki or anyone! Maybe that was because of her torn nose she had injured while hunting. Sighing, she picked herself up again. She lifted her head and uttered a raspy howl, before starting to walk again. While she padded along, a wonderful thought came to mind. Maybe... just maybe... today would be the day she found her mate.
Sierra groomed herself in the sun, taking time to lick each smear of mud she had gotten while hunting. She pricked her ears, then scented the air. West. Happily, she got up and shook herself. Her fur was snow white, laying smoothly along her slender back. Her muzzle was also equally white, with stunning blue eyes behind long black eyelashes. But, her eyes weren't what they were. She had completely lost her vision as a yearling, then slowly regained it, but not entirely. Her vision was still very fuzzy, and it appeared to be staying that way.
Chayton rushed up to her, a fat rabbit in his jaws. "Here." he said, dropping it and nudging it closer. Lately, he had been doing everything for her. He smiled, backing away.
Scarlet waddled out to him, a big smile on her face. "Hey, darlin'." she snickered, "Is there room for me?" she smiled, licking his cheek.
Aki hualed himself to his feet. He felt so sad. He had hoped their pack would grow instead they had lost land, a friend, afriend, and their daughter. And Now he felt hera nd Mari were drifting apart. He threw his head back and let out a sad howl.
West jumped from the outcrop, he had heard a twig snap in the distance, followed by the quick flicker of black fur in the bushes down the hill. He growled, ready to spring, the unfimilar scent putting him on edge.
