"I wouln't be so sure." he smiled. he turned to look at her, he found her so beautiful, her eyes were honest and bright, he felt like they bore into his soul. "I'm the beta of Emerald pack, and I'd give my life to protect you." he said softly, he had never before felt this way.a
 


"No way." shadow said, shaking his head. "With the bulls in rut I'm not going anywhere near the elk!" he jogged ahead. "Lets just take a couple mountain goats, they're easier to drag back to camp any way."

West laughed, he looked her in the eyes. "I said, I'd protect you." he said softly. "and you can't say I'm lying." he said swinging his head towards the blood stained boulder he had thrown Frost against. "I know i don't really know ya, but I've never felt this way before."

West grinned, his heart pounded. "How about where we first met. I think it be a little too easy for darkpack to find you if we meet at the same spot where one of them tired to kill you." he said with a smile.
