May frowned. "Kind of... down. I... never want to have to do what I did today again."
Chuma nodded. "Yes, I heard. But you did what you had too."

"Maybe so," May said distantly.
Chuma nudged her gently. "Don't worry about it."

May sighed. "I'm trying not to."

Her ears suddenly lifted, and she sniffed the air. "Cougar," she growled.
Chuma lifted his nose to the air and caught a whiff of Cougar. "Oh boy.." He growled.

"This is just where Jay must've left." She nosed some dried blood, which was painted on the grass. "Apparently some loners were here, too, but they're long gone."

Yukon sighed, he felt Dawn's pain, who knew what it felt like to be betrayed so horribly. "I know how you are feeling." He whispered, stopping in his tracks, he had never shared his past with anyone, not even Yukina knew how they had become outcasts. "Yukina and I were betrayed by our older brother." He said slowly, he didn't like to talk about it, but suddenly felt the need for Dawn to now that she wasn't alone. "My oldest brother attacked and killed our father for control of the pack, I challenged him, and he nearly killed me, so I took Yukina and ran, I kept saying I would have my revenge but he ran with the pack, besides I don't want to leave this pack." He turned to look at Dawn, his golden yellow eyes staring into hers.

Sierra gave a nervous smile and started backing up. "Yes... are you a pack wolf?" she asked, scanning the trees. A pack might be using him to make her feel safe, then a whole group of them might jump out an attack her.

"Yeah." He said nonchalalntly, moving past her and sitting by the water. "But they aren't here." He looked back at her. "I got mad, so I left to have some fun."

May climbed onto the Great Rock and howled, "Stormpack! We must drive off the cougar!"

In the trees, a tan, lithe shape was moving.
