Wildfire paced outside the den, blue eyes blazing as he wondered whether he should go in. Him and Zero weren't on good terms, and he didn't want to upset his mate further. Mumbling to himself, he thought, it's my den, too. I go in if I want. And with the grace of a revered alpha, he strode in.
Zero didn't snap at him or glare at him; in fact, she didn't even regard him at all. She had her back to him as she weaved some feathers into her nest.
Wildfire was greeted by Trista and Hallie, who eagerly bounded up to tell their father the day's news.
"I caught my first rabbit today, daddy!" Hallie said, nearly rolling on her paws in excitement.
"Good job, sweetie," Wildfire replied. "But for now, I need to go talk to your mom. Go catch her a rabbit or two, will you?"
"Okay!" the two white she-pups said in perfect usion, as if they had rehearsed it, bounding out of the den. Wildfire wouldn't doubt if they had done just so, either; the sisters were always finishing each other's sentences and such.
Thoughts aside, the black he-wolf joined Zero in weaving feathers into the tender moss, saying nothing.
Zero eyed him, but said nothing.
Wildfire returned the eyeing, rather sheepishly.
Zero, after weaving the feathers into the nest, went out into the sunshine.
Wildfire followed, surveying the pack with a critical, burning blue gaze. The densite buzzed with activity, and Robin was apparently bursting with excitement as she ran to her alphas: "Wildfire, Zero! There's a herd of caribou to the west!"
"Hm." Zero paused mid-step. "That's good. We were going to need to hunt again today, anyway. Tell Solar, Trista, and Hallie that they should join us."
Hallie and Trista were already bounding behind their parents, as excited as always. "Yes, yes, yes!" they said in one voice, running up ahead.
"Dunno where Solar is, Zero," Robin said sheepishly. "In fact, I can't seem to keep track of anyone these days."
( Hey, wanna RP on Survive The City? )

(I will soon. I need to chill out a bit. I am so ticked off right now.)
Zero closed her eyes in a bit of exasperation.
Well, you're just a ton of help. "Okay, then. I guess I'll find her. Take Trista and Hallie to wherever you found them; I'll join you later."
( I know the feel; is it that annoying Aussie? My favorite out of all our dogs, an Aussidor, is gumming my big toe right now. )
Robin shrugged sheepishly, and with a slight flurry of bright red pelt, bolted off towards the west. Hallie and Trista followed eagerly, nose-to-nose with each other.
(Nope, thief.)
Zero searched around for Solar. When she didn't find her, she grumbled and followed Robin's scent trail.
Robin, Hallie, and Trista had located the caribou, and were stalking the grazing herd from the shadows.
Wildfire had stayed behind, waiting for Zero, and joined her as she followed the trio's scent trail.
Zero stalked low to the ground from behind. She broke into a run as she left the thick cover of the spruce trees, and the herd started to stampede. Zero raced alongside one of the caribou of the herd to test its strength.
