The new wolf, Larch, crouched just outside her den. She watched everything happen with wide blue eyes. Though Senkah had accepted her in, she was afraid that the pack would be distrustful of her.

Mari prowled the loner territory with her head bent low against the wind. It was harsh out in the open where there were no trees, and she was grumbling things about how scarse the prey was. Her voice was carried off on the wind to be lost. She was downwind from Aki.
 
Sierra said goodbye to Faedon, and trotted easily through the trees. She padded up to freshly turned soil, and pulled a large fish from a hole. Then she trotted back to the densite. "West?" she called timidly, stepping up to the mouth of his den.
 
Faedon sighed, and laid down by the river. She stared at her reflection. Sure, she was in a pack, but she felt lonely sometimes.
 
Kodiak sat on the alpha rock, watching the Darkpack wolves come and go from the densite.
