Willowsong's gaze raced along the miles of pines, and to the mountains beyond. A small frown crossed her muzzle. She wasn't frowning because she was unhappy; she was frowning because she had just realized how much world was outside DarkPack.
"It's beautiful up here," Willowsong managed. It was hard to talk, knowing that the mountains were looming above them. Nature's way of telling us that it's been around way before wolves, she thought.
Cody gazed around in wonder. He may have grown up in these mountains... but this view never seized to amaze him.
"There's one!" Willowsong hissed.
Sure enough, a young doe was lurking beneath the canopy of taiga.
Willowsong's head was a-swim with thoughts as she used pheasant feathers to line her new nest. She felt a great sense of peace from this territory; the atmosphere in DarkPack's land was much more... dark. She liked the territory and the densite. It will be all ours soon, she thought with a smirk.
Cody was dragging in a deer pelt to his den.
When she caught a whiff of the strange wolf, Willowsong whipped around. She eyed the deer pelt with curiosity. "What are you gonna be doing with that?"
Cody dropped it so that his reply wasn't muffled and unintelligible. "Use it for my bedding. It is much softer than moss, and it lasts longer."
(I want some ice cream. But we're out of spoons. ;_![]()
Willowsong cocked her head. "Good idea. Care to help me catch myself a deer?"
( use a fork, dude )
"Sure." He dragged the pelt to the entrance of his den, before he shook the dust out of his pelt. "Follow me." He picked his way around the mountainside; there were a series of crags lining the cliffs and the mountainside, overlooking miles of pine forest and clearings. In the distance, more mountains spiked the horizon. The scene was breathtaking, even in the middle of the day. "We should see something from up here."
(The Band Perry should totally do a song about that.)
