Cody's ears shot up in alarm. "Willow?!" he barked, his tone uncertain. Cody wasn't the bravest wolf in Stonepack, and part of him was afraid of going to save her, for fear of falling in himself. He almost considered bolting and getting help, but by then, Willow would have drowned. Quivering, he sprinted over to the river with tense limbs, and reached down, trying to grab her scruff.
Willow's body was unmoving and limp as a dishrag, and her breathing shallow.
"Willow?" Cody felt an overwhelming urge to save this she-wolf. Frantically, he rasped his tongue over her chest, and prodded her side.
