Sierra heard splashes, and the fur on her neck rose. She slunk around the rocks on the river's edge and crouched behind a boulder. She saw a male wolf dragging himself out of the water. She leaped from her hiding place and snarled. "Who are you?! What are doing here?!" 

West leapt to his feet dazed and dizzy. He stared at the she wolf for a moment. "I'm west." he said calmly, undisturbed by her snarl. "I don't know, I don't know where I am!" he said, his eyes unfocused as they darted around taking in the forest and river.
