My crazy roo, (OEGB)Old English Game Bird, has decided to go traveling. My hen has refused his gentle loving affections. She went into solitude, setting on her clutch of eggs.

My crazy roo took off walking, to the mini-farm next door. I stopped him from attacking that roo. Seems my roo is trying to give some loving attention to the hen over there.

I was shocked to see my roo strutting around as if he lived over there. The neighbor's roo didn't fight back - or try to scare me off.

My question for the experienced chicken raiser & lovers:

IS IT COMMON FOR A ROO TO WANDER AWAY, FAR FROM HIS OWN HEN?

My hubby helped me round up that RUNAWAY ROO. Then I lured him inside the coop. How long will I need to keep him confined? Is another hen necessary?

I occasionally have had chickens just show up in my yard. One time it was the neighbors roo. So, yes they do go wandering.
I'm not sure how long you have to keep them penned up to stop the wandering.
Recently I kept my hens locked up for a week to make them forget about the neighbors tree. Well, it didn't work, I went to check for eggs, one of the hens escaped, she ran out as I ran in. And she ran straight out the driveway and up the hill to that tree!
