Well im getting a runner drake, and since I dont have any runner gals Id like to see some runner crosses!

Also, are runners good egg layers? I hear that the egg laying gene comes from the drake.

Im used to intergrating youger ducks into my flock - now How do I intergrate an adult?

The only part of your post I can answer is the egg laying. My girl is a little over a year and lays a big white egg everyday

Right now he is all feathered out and all buff with a little band of white on his neck that doesn't go all the way around.

I just posted pics on your other thread LOL. Congrats BTW. I'll have to get better pics tomorrow
ETA runners are terrific layers. We've had an egg a day since they started laying until they went broody and now in a molt. Expecting the our their babies to start laying in October.

JJ was a runner/khaki. When she was hatched we thought she was a khaki. Then her legs turned orange and she got really skinny.

JJ is on the left.

This is Ritz and Graham Quackers.
Ritz is 1/2 runner & 1/2 pekin.
Graham is 1/2 runner & 1/2 Khaki campbell.

When they are out of the water & excited they do stand up tall & you can definitely tell the runner influence, esp. Graham.

Both are girls, and they haven't started laying yet, so I don't know about the egg thing.

I hope somebody answers your question about integrating adults into your flock because I am getting some more ducks in a couple of months so I'll have the same question!
