Runner duck building/tending a nest?

I have a duck who lately has been making a nest and laying her eggs in there. The first nest she made I was removing the eggs daily, now she has moved to another nest. Before this she would just drop an egg wherever she was, without a care for it. Could the nest building behaviour mean that she is getting broody? I was told that runner ducks don't go broody or try to hatch their own eggs.

My ducks haven't gone broody for about 3 years. They still make nests. Maybe they would go broody if I let them accumulate enough eggs, but I found a hidden nest with enough eggs in it last fall and they weren't sitting on that.

I feel like my ducks just really like to lay eggs in nests. When they were younger they cared less and dropped them wherever. Your duck is an individual, of course.

Whoever told you that Runner Ducks don't go broody was dead wrong!

All domestic ducks can go broody! It is rarer than with Mallards, but they all can go broody.
