The five eldest pekin are completely and throughly bonded. Keeping five fully grown pekin in the meet and greet pen is a lot harder than 5 two months runners. The drakes are going to freezer-camp when we have time for processing.

Yes you want to protect those little ones. I am sure just like any animal there are varying temperaments depending on breeding. Mine have settled down a lot from hatch to over 2 yrs old now, they will never be laid back like my scovy's though. Busy lil things that's for sure.

Our two older drake runners are pretty skittish. Our oldest female runner is probably the most laidback and affectionate duck in the yard. It’s definitely an individual personality thing.
