Runner Ducks...need some info and pics

All 6 of our ducks are runners. We have a fawn and white, chocolate, black, and blue that are laying eggs and blue and blue ducklings.

No pictures of Vinny (black) and Ollie (blue) yet because they were a recent unexpected addition to our flock.

I have two runner ducks, one fawn & white and the other, I don't know. He has a dark brown head and wing feathers. Other than his head, he is just a darker version fot the fawn & white.
Unfortunatley, both of my ducks turned out to be drakes. Would like to get some hens, but am confused because some hatcheries say they will send hens, while others say the ducklings can't be sexed. Who do I believe? Really don't want any more drakes and don't want to get more birds and then have to get rid of some. Any tips?
ps. Loved the duck pictures! I've had my two ducks since April and can't imagine not having ducks from now on.

You guys ended up with Vinny & Ollie? LOL

Anyway...here is my runner. She was a freebie....part of a flock used to train herding dogs. She isn't the friendliest of ducks, but she is pretty entertaining.

She is a fawn and white, but looked mostly white in this picture. She molted like mad shortly after I took it.

She lays the HUGEST eggs. Yummm

Does anyone know why exacly runner ducks stand all most straight up? I have always wondered this and thought maybe it helps them somehow?

Quote:
their legs are further back on their body which not only let's them stand more upright than other breeds but also allows them to run much faster than other ducks that just waddle. When they were domesticated, ducks that could run faster were selected as it would be easier to bring them to different rice paddies quickly to eat all the pests.

Here are my Runners. They're still babies. They'll be 2 months old on the 9th. Some still have their baby fuzz on them. This was right after a bath so they were preening.

I have fawn & white Cricket, Blue who's Lacy, Chocolate is Elvis, Black is Eve and Grey is Piper. im pretty sure the penciled is hardd to come by especially in hatcheries, better luck asking around, most colors besides fawn & white, Black, Chocolate, Blue are hard to come by i'd say.
and oh my look at that stretch.
